Frankie Kazarian Says He & AJ Styles Want To Have Singles Match, They’re ‘Waiting On One Guy To Sign Off’
Kazarian says both he and Styles want the match.
Joining Dave LaGreca and Bully Ray on Busted Open was newly crowned TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian. Among the subjects brought up during the chat was the idea of Kazarian defending his title against A.J. Styles.
Kazarian stated that he wants to defend the belt against the TNA alumnus. He added that Styles wants the match too, but they’re waiting on ‘one guy’ to sign off on it.
“Absolutely excites me,” Kazarian said about the idea of defending the TNA World Title against AJ Styles. “AJ and myself have both kind of put it out there over the last few months that he’s ready to go, I’m ready to go. We just basically need one or two guys to sign off on it. I know AJ wants this to happen. I want it to happen. More importantly, the fans want it to happen, and look, that’s what we’re in the business of, of giving the fans what they want, and giving the fans what they want one more time because AJ’s hanging it up. Our history speaks for itself. AJ, there’s nobody I respect more, there’s nobody I’m a bigger fan of, and with his history in this company and with me now being the guy here, the stakes just went up. So this match could mean even more than it would have but, I mean, yeah, we’re waiting on one guy to sign off and I hope that guy does sign off on it because that would be a great button on not only our — both of our careers but our friendship.”
Styles had been called out by the former TNA World Champion, Mike Santana. To read his response to Santana, head over to this link.
