Glenn Jacobs (Kane) Finishes Eight-Year Term As Knox County Mayor

Glenn Jacobs (Kane in WWE) has finished his eight-year term as Knox County Mayor.

He was elected Mayor in August 2018 and was re-elected in 2022. He cannot run for a third term.

Speaking to WATE, Jacobs listed not raising taxes, Operation Heroes Hill, the START Center, Schoolmania, and the downtown stadium project as some of his biggest accomplishments.

When asked about his political future, he said he would have to consider whether or not it would be the right decision for his family.

“Ultimately, the measure of a mayor is ‘did you leave your community in a better place than when you started?’ Overall, I feel that is what has happened here. Knox County was already the best place to live, work, and raise a family. I hope working together, we’ve made it even better than it was eight years ago. Thank you for allowing me the privilege to be a small part of that. Until we meet again, be blessed,” he said.

Jacobs continued to wrestle as Kane while serving as Mayor. He last wrestled in 2021 as part of the men’s Royal Rumble.
