Goldberg Says He Talked To Hulk Hogan A Week Before Hogan Passed

Goldberg reflects on his relationship with Hulk Hogan.

The wrestling world lost Hulk Hogan on July 24th at the age of 71.

Hogan didn’t lose often in his career, but one of his biggest losses came in 1998 when he was defeated by Goldberg for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

Speaking to Mike Burke on Real Talk, Goldberg was asked about his relationship with Hogan.

“I was pretty close with him. I can’t say we hung out all the time, but he was a huge influence in my life. He taught me stuff that he never had to teach me. He took time with me in situations that he never had to do, and I realize people do it for a certain reason sometimes, but he was a good dude. He always treated me with respect. We all have our days,” he said.

Asked when the last time he spoke to Hogan was, Goldberg replied, “It was about a week before (he passed).”

Hogan never defeated Goldberg.

Elsewhere during the interview, Goldberg mentioned “some girl” and her streak. Fans can find his comments here.
