Hechicero Calls Out Zack Sabre Jr.
On February 12, 2024, Hechicero made his return to NJPW as a part of the joint event with CMLL "Fantastica Mania", where he teamed with Rocky Romero & Soberano Jr to defeat the team of Templario, Volador Jr & Atlantis Jr. After that match, The Alchemist of the ring had some things to say.
During the event's press conference, Hechicero and Rocky Romero were celebrating the return of CMLL's stars to Japan and their victory on the said show before Hechicero called out the leader of TMDK, Zack Sabre Jr. He stated the following:
“Ladies and gentlemen, CMLL is back in Japan for Fantastica Mania. Myself (Hechicero), Soberano Jr & “Azucar” Rocky Romero proved that Thebes Tecnicos (Volador Jr & Atlantis Jr) had to back themselves with Templario, who is a rudo. While I am at it, Zack Sabre Jr said that he wanted to go to Arena Mexico, that he was the best technical wrestler, and that he was going to kick Hechicero’s ass. Zack Sabre, it has been six years since I last saw you. Hechiceor always evolves day by day, I am a very different wrestler than you have met in the past. Congratulations on your match against Bryan Danielson last night, it was a great match, but the best technical wrestler is her and it is Hechicero, so stop fighting for who is the best because I am here. I came to Japan to fight whenever you want.”
Sabre Jr defeated Bryan Danielson at NJPW New Beginning in Osaka, where he reiterated that he was aiming to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in 2024 (full quote here).
