Hiroshi Tanahashi & El Phantasmo Declare For 2025 NJPW World Tag League Tournament

Tanahashi and ELP will get the chance to run the gauntlet.

The NJPW World Television Championship was up for grabs at NJPW’s King of Pro-Wrestling show on October 13th.

Going into the match as champion was El Phantasmo, and he defended against Hiroshi Tanahashi. The match resulted in a time limit draw, as Tanahashi did not tap while ELP had him in a submission during the final stretch.

They shook hands and showed mutual respect afterward. In their backstage comments, ELP and Tanahashi agreed to team in the 2025 NJPW World Tag League tournament.

They were supposed to team in the 2024 tournament, but ELP had to step away from in-ring competition after it was discovered that he had a tumor.

World Tag League 2025 starts on November 20th.
