Hiroshi Tanahashi Wants To Come Full Circle With His Final Opponent, Won’t Face Aaron Wolf
Hiroshi Tanahashi is set to retire at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 on January 4, 2026, capping off a legendary career that began in 1999.
Tanahashi’s final opponent has yet to be announced.
Speaking at a press conference, Tanahashi commented on who he might face in his final bout.
“I know everyone is waiting for my opponent announcement… please wait just a little longer! I can’t say who it is just yet, but on the rest of this Final Road, like with O-Khan this past weekend, it’s been special to get in touch with those memories and connect something to their future. I said I wanted to wrestle everyone, but we’re running low on time…I want there to be a connection. I want to come full circle in a sense…. that’s all I’ll say!”
Hiroshi Tanahashi confirmed that he won’t face Aaron Wolf, who will be making his debut at Wrestle Kingdom 20.
Fightful will provide more details on Tanahashi’s final opponent when it is decided.
