Hornswoggle Says His Son Wants To Become A Professional Wrestler
Hornswoggle says his son, Landon, loves professional wrestling and wants to get into the business.
Speaking on TMZ Sports’ Inside the Ring podcast, Hornswoggle said Landon goes to his training school and has picked up a lot of things. He also texts wrestlers such as Ethan Page and Brian Myers to talk to them about wrestling, and he learned a lot about the business.
Hornswoggle loves that his son has the same passion for wrestling that he does, but he also has to tell him that wrestling doesn’t work like other sports. Everyone needs a bit of luck and the right timing to make it.
“I know he does. All he wants to do is professionally wrestle. I cannot train him until he’s 17 because he’s already going to deal with nepotism stuff and all of that. I won’t break the rules for him.
But he goes to our secret Sunday classes (Hornswoggle runs a training school) and he’s already doing stuff that advanced students are doing. It’s all he knows and all he loves. He finally showed interest in law enforcement a few months ago and I was like, ‘Yes, please do that.’
But he has such a love for this business and such a love for everything wrestling. He texts Ethan Page and Brian Myers and all of these guys without me being in the chats just about wrestling and just about life and just like all that. It’s his knowledge, and his want for more knowledge is crazy. That’s another thing… a connection and a bond that we have that’s very strong and I’m so thankful for that one.
But also, I need to tell and I need him to realize [to] have that be the backup plan because… I tell all my students, ‘It’s not like football or basketball or baseball where you’re the number one in the country, so you’re going to get picked up. Wrestling isn’t about that. You can be the best professional wrestler in the world and you’re going to be making $20 a weekend.’ It’s luck and opportunity and right place, right time nowadays. It would be a really freaking cool feeling if he decides to do it and does something with it. I just know his passion for it and that alone would make me happy.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Hornswoggle shared his thoughts on Logan Paul. Fans can read his comments here.
