Hulk Hogan discusses the incident with a fan.
Over the weekend, footage was released of Hulk Hogan getting into a confrontation with a fan at the hotel bar. In the video, Hogan asks the fan to come outside, explains that he has the right to have a few moments by himself, and tells the fan to calm down before walking away. He also drops the line, "The last time I had a Shirley Temple was when me and your wife got together."
In a video on Facebook, Hogan detailed the fan incident, giving his side of the story.
He began by noting that he was invited by Ric Flair to have a drink at the hotel bar where the wrestlers were staying for SmackDown. Hogan initially didn't want to deal with fans at the bar, but Flair explained that it was currently calm.
"He just wanted to have one drink before the chaos started," explained Hogan. "So we went in a booth and people start coming up and Flair, he's a heel in the ring, so he's a heel and running everybody off so we could have one drink. This one guy came over, and he's drunk on his ass. He had about four guys with him. Just a bunch of rangy looking spoons. Flair runs him off. Next thing you know, he sends over two Shirley Temples for me and Flair, saying we're a couple of pussies. Flair gets all lit up. He dropped the line in the booth, 'The last time I had a Shirley Temple was when I was [screwing] your wife.' I was like, 'Please Flair, stop.' He said it at the table with me and it was funny."
As Hogan was trying to leave, the fan who sent over the drinks began going at Hogan.
"On the way out, what doesn't show in the video, the guy we ran off goes, 'Hey Hogan, you're an effin' D-I-C-K, you're an effin D.' Usually, I keep going. But for some reason I just stopped, dead in my tracks. I turned around and looked at him and the only thing I could think to say was the line Flair dropped. I said, 'Hey brother, the last time I had a Shirley Temple was when I was hanging with your wife.' Man, that lit him up. His buddies were acting like they were holding him back. I was like, 'Brother, I dare you. I dare you to come outside and say this to my face.' What those guys didn't know was Brian Kendrick and a lot of WWE and NXT guys -- there's this crazy bond and loyalty. If you get into a fight with a wrestler in a bar, you better make sure there's no other wrestlers around. As I'm arguing with the guy, I looked, and I see Brian Kendrick and other guys circling the wagon. That's all that happened and I went up to my room," he recalled.
Hogan also poked fun at the guy on Twitter, officially calling him "Shirley" and toasting to him.
