During Final Resolution, IMPACT Wrestling announced Genesis will return on January 9, 2021. The event will are on IMPACT Plus.
IMPACT has been taping all programming from Skyway Studios in Nashville, TN.
TNA/IMPACT first used the Genesis event name in 2005. The event name hasn't been used since 2018. Genesis 2018 was held at the Aberdeen Pavilion in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The event was headlined by Eli Drake defending the IMPACT Global Championship against Alberto El Patron and Johnny Impact in a Six-Sides of Steel match.
IMPACT has been running IMPACT Plus specials during the pandemic while continuing to hold its pay-per-view events. The next IMPACT pay-per-view is Hard To Kill on January 16, 2021.
