IMPACT Knockouts Title Match Announced For Slammiversary

Weeks after showing Jordynne Grace she's ready to take the IMPACT Knockouts Championship, Deonna Purrazzo has her title match.

It was announced tonight that Grace will defend her title against Purrazzo at the Slammiversary pay-per-view taking place on July 18. The announcement comes after Purrazzo defeated Alisha Edwards earlier in the show.

On the June 9 episode of IMPACT, Grace defended the Knockouts Championship against Taya Valkyrie in the main event. After Grace won the match, Purrazzo appeared, making her way to the ring. After a brief staredown between Grace and Purrazzo, Purrazzo attacked the champion, locking in an armbar on Grace. A week later, Purrazzo attacked Grace in a backstage segment, locking in the armbar once again.

Purrazzo was released by WWE as part of the company-wide cutbacks back on April 15. She previously made multiple appearances on WWE and NXT television. Purrazzo has worked a handful of matches in TNA/IMPACT in the past at One Night Only events, Xplosion, and IMPACT television.
