IMPACT Wrestling Viewership, Ratings Up For 12/8 With Kenny Omega Appearance

AEW's presence on this week's IMPACT Wrestling episode on AXS TV saw an increase in viewership and ratings.

According to Showbuzz Daily, the December 8 episode of IMPACT averaged 221,000 viewers and drew a 0.08 rating in the 18-49 demographic. IMPACT's 18-49 demo rating finished 96th best on cable for the day. The show's numbers were better than last week when it averaged 166,000 viewers and drew a 0.05 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

IMPACT Wrestling broke viewership records on Twitch on Tuesday, hitting 52,469 viewers during the final segment featuring AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Don Callis. Just as the show went off the air, 55,396 viewers tuned in. The show immediately broke the 2020 viewership record as over 11,000 viewers were waiting five minutes before the show started. When the show went live at 8 p.m. ET, 25,000 viewers had tuned in. When AEW's paid advertisement featuring Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone aired, 40,000 viewers were locked in. The show cracked 50,000 just before the final segment.

The show saw Omega and Callis get interviewed by Josh Matthews. Omega said that there will be an announcement made on tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite. In addition, the Knockouts Tag Team Championship tournament reached the end of the first round with the semifinals starting next week.
