The first match of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic has been announced.
NXT confirmed that the January 8 episode will feature the duo of Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel of Imperium taking on Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake of the Forgotten Sons in a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic first round matchup.

The 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will begin this Wednesday with NXT UK?s Imperium, represented by Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner, taking on The Forgotten Sons? Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler.
Imperium is out to prove that their brand of wrestling is superior and show the world why the mat is sacred, while Blake & Cutler want to ensure that they are forgotten no more. Whose hard-nosed brand of battle will prove superior?
Based on how the brackets are constructed, the winner of this match will take on the winner of the Matt Riddle & Pete Dunne vs. Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster. That match does not have a set date yet.
This year's edition of the tournament features only eight teams with four of them coming from NXT and NXT UK each. The other two matches in the first round are Grizzled Young Veterans vs. KUSHIDA & TBA as well as Mark Coffey & Wolfgang of Gallus vs. Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly of the Undisputed Era.
