Josh Alexander has a new challenger for his X Division Championship.
On the August 5 episode of IMPACT Wrestling, a Four-Way Match was held to determine the new number one contender for The Walking Weapon's title. The contestants were Jake Something, Trey Miguel, Rohit Raju, and Daivari.
After a hotly contested match, Jake Something was able to pick up the victory. As a result, he will challenge Alexander for the belt at Emergence on Friday, August 20, 2021.

Backstage, Alexander was confronted by Daivari who argued that he deserves the opportunity. Alexander said that if Daivari can beat him next week, he will give him a title shot in the future. Daivari accepted and went to see Scott D'Amore to make it official.
Alexander last defended the X Division Championship at Homecoming, defeating Black Taurus to retain.
