JBL Hopes To See Chris Jericho Back In WWE

A return to WWE for Chris Jericho is something JBL would love to see.
Speculation arose about a potential WWE return for Chris Jericho after he liked an Instagram post that implied that he’d be heading back to the sports entertainment company.
Fightful Select has an update on the speculation, and it is that Jericho is under contract to All Elite Wrestling through the remainder of 2025. WWE sources relayed that Jericho’s name has not been mentioned at all in the creative process.
John Bradshaw Layfield discussed the talk around Jericho on Something To Wrestle. JBL hopes to see Jericho back in WWE, retire there, and then enter the Hall of Fame.
“I hope so (Chris Jericho comes back to WWE). Yeah, because he made such a big name there, and he was the first champion and all of a sudden, he beat Rock and Stone Cold the same night… I don’t know if this negotiation — if he’s not coming in, this is great negotiation for whatever he’s doing. So it’s smart. Chris, obviously a very smart guy. All the stuff that he’s done outside of the business. I hope he does, mainly because I watch a lot more WWE than I do anything else and I’d love to be able to see him.”
Jericho was last present on AEW programming on the April 9th edition of Dynamite when he stepped away from Big Bill and Bryan Keith, formerly known as The Learning Tree. Jericho last wrestled at AEW Dynasty, where he lost the ROH World Title to Bandido in a title versus mask match.
