JC Mateo (Jeff Cobb) Competes Against LA Knight In WWE Debut Match On WWE SmackDown

If you thought you'd have to wait to see the newly-christened JC Mateo (Jeff Cobb) compete in a WWE Ring, think again.

After pure bedlam following the Triple Threat Money in the Bank Qualifying Match between Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso and Rey Fenix, SmackDown General Manager ordered a match between Mateo and Knight, after the two had been at each others' throats all evening.

Mateo, clad in black pants and a black t-shirt, competed in his very first match on WWE SmackDown against LA Knight and proved that he's exactly where he belongs.

The match itself was a back-and-forth contest, with both men gaining the advantage, but Solo Sikoa once again made his presence felt, which gained the upper hand for Mateo. After a commercial break, Mateo continued his domination, but LA Knight refused to give up. Mateo tried several pinfall attempts but Knight continued to kick out. Knight eventually gained the advantage after an ill-timed splash to the outside turnbuckle from Mateo, and he attempted his own pinfall, but Mateo kicked out.

Knight tried a BFT but Mateo reversed it into a spinning side suplex, followed by a standing moonsault. He only got a two-count. After Solo attempted to get involved again, Knight dove from the ring onto him and Jacob Fatu, but as he got back into the ring, he was the victim of the Mateo's 'Tour of the Islands' scoop powerslam, which gave Mateo the win.

JC Mateo officially won his WWE debut match.
