Jeff Cobb Says He Received An Offer From IMPACT Wrestling, Talks Winning The ROH TV Title

It is Jeff Cobb's 2018.

The SPLX-sponsored athlete Jeff Cobb has had an eventful 2018. In this year alone Cobb has made a number of appearances for New Japan Pro Wrestling, has been reigning for 500 days as the APW Universal Heavyweight Champion, won the PWG Battle Of Los Angeles tournament, challenged for the NEVER Openweight Title and recently became the new ROH World Television Champion by defeating Punishment Martinez during last month's ROH TV tapings.

The universe is in line for Cobb at the moment and he wants to keep it that way. Prior to Ring Of Honor's 'Glory By Honor XVI' event in Baltimore, Cobb spoke with 'The Baltimore Sun' and during the interview Cobb reflected on the crazy month that he has had and winning the ROH World TV Title.

"It's been a crazy crazy month. Big things have just constantly been happening. It's actually been a bit overwhelming at times, but it's super cool." He continued by speaking about his TV Title win, "It was very shocking that I did that on my first official night in the ring for Ring Of Honor. It was pretty surreal actually, that I could come in and win the ROH TV belt in my first official match for them. Just crazy. I guess it's a good sign."

Jeff Cobb stated that he felt as if his time solely as an independent wrestler had ran its course which is why he decided to dip his hands into the New Japan and Ring Of Honor hats.

"I just kind of felt that I've ran my course on the indies. I've been very fortunate to wrestle in all the top indies across America, Europe, Canada and Mexico. The next step to me was to sign with some sort of national TV company." He explained. "Ring Of Honor was one of my top priorities. The guys that are at Ring Of Honor, I get along with all of them. It was another reason why I ended up signing."

The conversation continued by Cobb being asked if there were any other offers on the table and he shared that he did have an offer from IMPACT Wrestling but that did not come to fruition and his role in New Japan played a part in that.

"I had an IMPACT offer a couple of months ago. It just didn't really end up coming together unfortunately. The New Japan thing definitely played a huge role in that. New Japan is something I really want to work with more, and ROH makes that possible. That was a tipping point for me." Cobb said.

Cobb defeated Punishment Martinez to capture the ROH World Television Title and following the match it was reported that Martinez's match with Cobb was his last in the company and that Martinez is NXT bound. To read more on that, click here.
