Jim Cornette Thinks Tag Team Wrestling Can Be Just As Good If Not Better Than Singles Competition

Jim Cornette praises tag team wrestling in MLW.

37-year veteran of the professional wrestling business, Jim Cornette is now a part of Major League Wrestling as a commentator and working backstage with the company as well to a certain extent. Cornette was on the call for 'Rise Of The Renegades' and Battle Riot II and one aspect that Jim Cornette particularly enjoys about MLW is the tag team wrestling.

Cornette was interviewed by beIN Sports in March to gage his thoughts about Major League Wrestling and what he thinks separates MLW from other promotions and companies. Cornette named Pentagon Jr. and Fenix and The Hart Foundation as teams that are a part of the resurgence of tag team wrestling and added that good tag wrestling and be just as exciting if not better than singles action.

?You know to be quite honest, tag team wrestling is undergoing a resurgence because for years, it?s been marginalized and when the industry leader doesn?t portray tag team wrestling as important [then] a lot of the smaller promotions like to be copycats [and] follow suit but now, MLW and a few other promotions out there are really bringing tag team wrestling back to prominence and I think tag team wrestling is every bit of exciting if not more exciting than singles competition." Cornette expressed. "It?s a little something for everybody and I?m excited to see that a lot of teams are starting to form and really get good. It?s a band of brothers when you?re a tag team and you can?t just pick that up in two weeks, and I think, a lot of these teams whether it?d be the Lucha Brothers, whether it?d be The Hart Foundation or whatever, they know each well and that?s the backbone of good tag team wrestling."
