Jim Duggan Believes Sandman Misspoke About Them Winning WWE Tag Team Titles In 2007

In a recent interview on the Major Wrestling Figure podcast, The Sandman claimed that Jim Duggan told him in 2007 that WWE was thinking of putting the Tag Team Titles on them.

“So (Hacksaw Jim) Duggan comes up to me and he goes, he’s like, ‘yo, Hak, he goes, they’re thinking about putting the tag team straps on us,’ and I’m like, ‘oh, yeah, great.’. I turned around and I’m like, who the fuck is going to do the work? Who’s going to work? What are we, both going to stand on the apron? Who’s doing the hot tag? It would be the worst hot tag in the history of freaking the business,” claimed Sandman.

Speaking to WrestleTalk, Duggan was asked for his version of things.

“I think Sandman might have misspoke or something, I had very little interaction with Sandman, I think he might have been putting himself over. Yeah I don’t see that, me and Slaughter maybe, but yeah I don’t see that brother. He might have come up with that one late at night,” said Duggan.

Duggan and Sandman did team on the July 23rd, 2007 episode of WWE Raw and at live events.
