Being a professional wrestler can be frustrating at times for talent that has their actions and on screen personality shaped by the creative team of their respective promotions, particularly when it draws backlash from fans for one reason or another.
While speaking to the Michael Fairman Channel in a new interview, Joe Hendry was asked about segments or moments where he hasn’t agreed with the ideas WWE creative presents him with.
“I think in professional wrestling, your job is to give it your absolute best with the collaboration that you have, and that’s what I always try to do. I always try to give the best I can with the tools that I have available, and that’s what pro wrestling really is because it’s a collaboration. You’ve got these, you know, you are your own brand, but ultimately you’re working together to try and entertain the audience, and that’s, you know, it’s a group of people working together to try and do that. So my goal is to try and execute for the company as best I can.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Hendry spoke about a future potential heel turn. You can read more about that here.
