Fans of the "Walk With Elias" catchphrase owe John Cena some thanks. According to Elias, Cena was an early fan of the slogan which led to Elias soon adopting it as part of his act on Raw every week.
Elias told the story on a recent episode of E&C's Podcast of Awesomeness:
"It just so happened to perfectly work out that WWE and 'Walk With Elias' are right in line there. I said it one time, I remember I said it backstage to John Cena. He was going off about the WWE Universe, and WWE this and that. And I said, 'Hey, John, do you know what WWE stands for? It stands for "Walk With Elias." He said, 'my head just exploded in 10 different ways, man. That is great.' He said, 'You've got to make a thing out of that.] Sure enough, the next week or whatever, I said it. I said it against John I believe in a promo on Christmas Day no less. It seemed like right away the fans really reacted to it."
Even though Elias only has been using the catchphrase for a couple of months, WWE is running with it, offering "Walk With Elias" T-shirts for sale on the company's official online store.
Elias, who also told Edge and Christian that he writes all his own songs that he performs at WWE events, got called up to the main roster last April. He's getting prepared for his biggest match to date -- the main event of Sunday's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
