After the event, John Cena spoke with Cathy Kelley for a WWE.com interview and he expressed his gratitude to the WWE for allowing him to make an appearance at WrestleMania. Cena also sent his thank you's to the fans and added that he hopes they enjoyed his appearance because they'll never know how much being able to show face at WrestleMania means to him.

“They [WWE Universe] have no idea how much it means to me." Cena said. "For years I could say my contributions on television has helped sell tickets to this event. This year, that was not true and it is still completely sold out and everyone is still completely on the edge of their seat and I’ve said this since the day I walked in the door, the WWE does not need me or any one individual, it needs the fans. So I’m at a very good perspective with the fact that they don’t need me and [are] just fine without me, and I’m very grateful to be asked to be even a small part. So, I’ll even break out the old school stuff just to be a part." Cena laughed. "I hope it meant a lot to them because they’ll have no idea how much it meant to me.”

Cena stated that he wrapped up a movie this past Thursday and wanted to be at WrestleMania in person. Cena's name was thrown in the hat to face Kurt Angle at WrestleMania for many weeks and last night, Kurt Angle fell in defeat in his last match with WWE but during a recent interview, Angle shared that he will be sticking around the sports-entertainment company to work in a backstage role.
