John Cena Says He Dealt With Facing ‘Genuine Fear’ While Filming Practical Stunts For Upcoming Matchbox Movie

John Cena says that he felt ‘genuine fear’ while filming the Matchbox movie, having been part of several practical stunts in the movie.

Pro wrestlers have been moving over to the world of acting for the past several decades, with action roles being very common for the talent involved. Despite this, Cena has spoken about his fear about participating in sports for a recent movie role.

While speaking to ExtraTV in a new interview, John Cena was asked how he prepared for his role in the upcoming Matchbox movie, noting that he had to face ‘genuine fear’ while filming practical action in the movie.

“This one was a lot more facing my genuine fear, just because of the practical actions there. It’s kind of got to be me because of the way we shoot and the way Sam Hargrave does action. So stuff that isn’t exactly my favorite, I had to gain the courage to do it, and Sam Hargrave is a man that I want to do it for. He’s a great human being, and I can say with confidence I’ll jump off a building for him because I did that shit.”
