Johnny Gargano is back on NXT.
Opening a special holiday edition of NXT, Gargano appeared at the end of the NXT Championship match between Adam Cole and Finn Balor. Gargano's appearance at the entrance ramp distracted Balor, which gave Cole a window of opportunity to win the match and retain the title.
Once the match was over, Gargano brought out a steel chair and began punishing Balor by striking his back with the chair.

Gargano's bitter feelings towards Balor are justified, especially in the last few weeks. When Balor returned to NXT earlier this year, he attacked Gargano when he turned heel. Gargano would reportedly suffer a neck injury and was absent from NXT programming for several weeks.
