Johnny Saint will be in charge of WWE's new brand.
With the expansion of WWE into the United Kingdom, rumors of a United Kingdom show on the WWE Network have been circulating all year. WWE will be in London later this month to film the remaining parts of their tournament in a two night event.
While WWE has not announced a show on WWE Network, they did announce Johnny Saint as General Manager of the "United Kingdom brand."
The following is an excerpt from the press release at WWE.com.
Johnny Saint, one of the most revered competitors in British wrestling history, has been named the General Manager of WWE’s United Kingdom brand.
As first reported by the Daily Star, Saint will lead the charge as WWE grows its U.K. division, including the back-to-back United Kingdom Championship Tournament events being held later this month at London’s world-famous Royal Albert Hall.
Beginning in the 1950s, Saint’s remarkable in-ring career spanned more than five decades. A protégé of the legendary Billy Robinson, Saint is considered a pioneering force in the U.K. scene, and he is widely hailed as one of the most technically gifted grapplers of all time.
Even though Saint has not wrestled in WWE, he coached NXT and WWE recruits at the WWE Performance Center. WWE also said Saint will be helping with the two day tournament event which airs June 25th and June 26th.
Fightful Wrestling will have live coverage of the tournament and any additional news about the United Kingdom brand.
