Jon Moxley To Fight Davey Boy Smith Jr. At Josh Barnett's Bloodsport 5

Jon Moxley is booked for yet another Bloodsport fight.

When Jon Moxley left WWE, he had certain shows he wanted to work as a free agent wrestler. One of those shows was Josh Barnett Bloodsport. Initially scheduled to face Josh Barnett at the second Bloodsport event, a MRSA infection prevented that from happening.

When the match was rescheduled for WrestleMania weekend last year, COVID-19 prevented that from happening again. Moxley would finally work a Bloodsport event in October during the GCW Collective where he faced Chris Dickinson and picked up the victory.

Now, Jon Moxley is set for a fight against someone who has traveled a similar path to his own.

GCW has announced that at Bloodsport 5 on February 20, Jon Moxley will face Davey Boy Smith Jr., a veteran of Bloodsport events.

Much like Jon Moxley, Davey Boy Smith has had a run in WWE where he became a Tag Team Champion with Tyson Kidd. At the last Bloodsport event, WWE filmed portions of a documentary with Davey Boy Smith Jr.

Davey Boy Smith also was a member of the New Japan roster as part of Suzuki-Gun, Jon Moxley is the current IWGP United States Champion.

Currently, Jon Moxley has enemies across all promotions as he has been feuding with Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson, and KENTA. As Tony Khan stated on the February 9 episode of IMPACT on AXS TV, “The Forbidden Door” is now open.

Fightful will have coverage of Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 5.
