Jon Moxley: I'm Still Part Of NJPW And Will Be For As Long As I Damn Well Please

Jon Moxley is still very much under the NJPW banner.

After nearly a year away from NJPW due to the pandemic, Jon Moxley showed up on the January 29 NJPW Strong to confront KENTA.

KENTA earned an IWGP US Title shot against Moxley in August when he won the New Japan USA Cup, but Moxley couldn't answer the challenge due to the pandemic and the "forbidden door" being closed. KENTA "stalked" Moxley on social media and defended his briefcase five times before Moxley finally confronted him

The IWGP US Title match was made official on January 30 and the two men will finally clash on February 26 at NJPW New Beginning USA.

In an interview with NJPW, Moxley said he never left NJPW despite his absence.

"I made my intentions clear at Wrestle Kingdom. I'm still -- all this craziness in the world aside in the last ten months -- I'm still very much a part of New Japan Pro Wrestling and will continue to be for as long as I damn well please and as much as I damn well please. There ain't anything that's going to change that. There ain't anybody that decides that aside from me. I'm still a part of New Japan and you're going to have to beat me in the ring and your stupid briefcase, walking around, looking like an idiot. The briefcase is very ten years ago, I don't know why we're still doing that. It's an embarrassment. Belts, shiny gold belts, that's all that matters," he stated.

While Moxley laid out KENTA on NJPW Strong, KENTA returned the favor at AEW Beach Break, attacking Moxley and putting him to sleep with the G2S.
