Wrestling is an industry that is sometimes a slave to its old tropes and traditions of a bygone era that no longer fit the moral standards of modern society.

In 2020, there was the Speaking Out movement, a social media push to open up about the sexual misconduct and overall misogyny that has plagued the world of wrestling through the years.

One wrestling star that always speaks her mind is Jordynne Grace. Whether she is speaking out against issues she faced when she first started out in wrestling or engaging in Twitter spats where she takes a stand against wrestling legends that have an issue with her or how she works, Jordynne Grace is not afraid to speak her mind.

Talking about her decision to be so candid on social media to Tommy Dreamer on his podcast, House of Hardcore, Jordynne Grace explains that she speaks out so openly on social media because she is doing what she did not have the courage to do when she was younger because she knows that now that she's an established star in wrestling, she will be able to speak out for those who are too young to speak out for themselves.

“A lot of people in your generation are very fond of me if you haven't noticed, Grace told Dreamer. “I don't know what it is exactly. I think a lot of it has to do with, when I was younger, I didn't feel like I could be as vocal about anything and a lot of bad stuff happened when I was first starting wrestling and I felt like I couldn't speak out about it and that stuff continued to happen to other people and I just feel like it shouldn't be like that anymore. So now that have some kind of standing in wrestling and you know I have some kind of name, so to speak, I don't feel like the repercussions are as big for me as someone who's just starting out and really can't say anything I feel like that's why I do it a lot of times.”

She continued, “I do get a lot of hit-back for a lot of stuff I stay. There's all kinds of threads and forums about how I'm always involved in drama but at the same time, what am I supposed to do, just not say anything ever about people doing messed up stuff? So I don't know, I guess that's why I am who I am.”

Jordynne Grace continues to be a strong presence in the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts division. Most recently, she began teaming with Jazz, another ECW original, In a failed attempt to capture the Knockouts Tag Team Championship.

Following their time as a team, Grace defeated Jazz at IMPACT Genesis 2021. You can see the full results of that event at this link.
