Kavita Devi Credits The Great Khali For Shaping Her Career, Says She Never Thought She Would Be In WWE, More

Kavita Devi is living the dream.

During the summer of 2017 Kavita Devi competed in WWE's inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament. A few months later the company announced that they had signed Devi to a contract. She is currently in training at the WWE Performance Center and most recently made her WrestleMania debut as a part of the first-ever WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal

WWE Files To Trademark 'MFT'

Kavita Devi was recently interviewed by Manorama Online and praised her trainer, former World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali who played a pivotal role in Devi getting connected to WWE.

"Khali sir got me to the (WWE) ring. He has a big contribution in shaping my career." She said. "Jinder Mahal is a big star in WWE. He has earned a big name for India at the international level."

Devi thought that she would never become a part of the sports-entertainment company and she feels that training at the PC is allowing her to open up doors for fellow women in India who are looking to chase their dream of becoming a WWE-contracted performer.

"I had never thought of entering WWE. I was only interested in wrestling, but I wanted to do something different. This is a very good field that I have found. Here, I can do a lot for our country. I have reached this level after going through very hard times and tough training and testing. WWE has the word 'entertainment' in it but let me tell you that the fight is real." She expressed. "The athletes make big jumps, hit each other and get hurt. All of this is real." Devi continued, "I feel proud that I am able to motivate girls to get into this field where Indian women have not ventured at all. It is heartening to see that girls are getting inspired by me."

As mentioned, Kavita Devi did compete in the first-ever WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal. Head over to Fightful's coverage of the "Show Of Shows" to read in-detail about how she faired in the bout.
