Kendal Grey: Shawn Spears Is My Go-To Producer In WWE NXT

Kendal Grey speaks highly of Shawn Spears.

The reigning EVOLVE Women’s Champion, Kendal Grey, is looking to become a double champion in WWE. After winning the women’s Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline, she secured herself a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship at New Year’s Evil.

Grey opened up about her ascension and more during her sit-down chat with Bully Ray on Busted Open After Dark. As the conversation moved along, she was asked to name her go-to producer at NXT, and she named Shawn Spears. She added that Spears has been helping her figure out who the on-screen character Kendal Grey is.

“Shawn Spears,” Grey responded when asked who her go-to producer is in NXT. “I think the way he thinks about this and psychology behind it makes you think outside of the box. It really makes you think outside of the box, and I would say Shawn Spears for sure… I’ll ask him about advice for promos and he’s actually been helping me figure out who Kendal Grey is when I get in that ring and taking down the straps, doing all that. He’s really helped me a lot… As a producer, I’d go probably to him.”

In addition to assisting behind the scenes, Spears is a member of The Culling faction with Izzi Dame and Niko Vance. At Deadline, Spears and Vance helped Dame pick up a win over Tatum Paxley.
