Kenny Omega Forgives Will Ospreay, Says Golden Lovers Never Ends

Kenny Omega forgives Will Ospreay and sends a message to Kota Ibushi.

At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17, Omega defeated Ospreay in a dream match that had been years in the making to win the IWGP United States Championship. The match marked Omega's first time competing in an NJPW ring since he lost to Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 13. He and Ospreay delivered a remarkable contest that left the wrestling world buzzing.

In a tweet following the show, Omega shared his thoughts on the match. He noted that he and Ospreay were racing towards the same goal, and they were willing to break their bodies for it. Omega stated that he respected that kind of passion, and he wrote, "I forgive you", seemingly in a message to Ospreay.

Plus, Omega responded to a tweet from his former Golden Lovers partner, Kota Ibushi. After Omega's win, Ibushi took to Twitter to congratulate his friend. He noted that the match gave him courage, and he stated, "Golden Lovers Never End." Ibushi said he'd catch up to Omega again, and the AEW star replied by saying he can wait forever.

Omega also stated that "GL never ends."

Omega and Ibushi previously teamed up during their days in DDT Pro-Wrestling. They won the KO-D Tag Team Championship twice, and they competed in a number of unforgettable matches.

Ibushi has been sidelined with an injury since October 2021. It's unclear when he will return to the ring.

In a recent interview, Ibushi stated that he wants to have his own promotion, and he has gotten big offers from AEW. More information is available here.
