Kenny Omega Was Intially Pissed Off Over Joining Bullet Club

Kenny Omega ascended to superstar status as a member of the Bullet Club in New Japan Pro Wrestling. But the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion didn't initially want to be part of the group.

When Omega signed a full-time contract with NJPW in 2014, he was revealed as the newest member of Bullet Club. Led by AJ Styles at the time, Omega felt that he should have been battling Styles and The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson) rather than joining them.

"Kenny texts us and says, 'New Japan wants to bring me on full-time. They want to put me in Bullet Club.' You were pissed off. You were like, 'Why should I be on your team, we should be working against each other. Bullet Club already has AJ [Styles]," recalled Matt Jackson on Wrestlers Ordering Room Service.

Kenny added, "I also thought, just because I'm a foreigner doesn't mean I should automatically go in."

Matt reiterated the thought, saying, "You were like, 'All foreigners just go into Bullet Club? Gimme a break.' You were pissed off about it but were like, 'You know what, whatever, maybe this will be good for us because we can hang out.'"

Omega eventually assumed the leadership position of Bullet Club when he and The Young Bucks overthrew AJ Styles in 2016 when he was on his way to WWE.

Elsewhere during the sitdown, Omega and the Bucks discussed their departure from NJPW. You can read their comments by clicking here.
