Kevin Patrick Says He Found Out About Raw Commentary Job The Week Of, 'I Had No Idea'

Kevin Patrick comments on landing his Raw commentary gig.

Patrick, who was assigned to Monday Night Raw back in October 2022, has been an integral part for the Triple H era of the weekly show. Alongside his commentary partner Corey Graves, Patrick has already got to call some of the bigger moments in the show's recent history.

While appearing on the latest episode of the Out Of Character podcast, Patrick was asked by Ryan Satin to talk about how much notice he had before joining the red brand's broadcast team.

“Not long at all, honestly I was thrust into the spotlight the week of and it’s something that I had been working on doing [commentary] for Main Event. When I got the call, I had no idea. Changes were made, unfortunately. You never wanna see… Jimmy Smith, a friend of mine. You don’t wanna see people move on, but when you’re being told that you’re being trusted with this position, it’s like, ‘Okay, I appreciate that.’ One day, I may be moved on and the next person will come in and I wish them well. It’s just the nature of what we do in live entertainment. So, I didn’t know for long, but I had been working on it week in and week out during Main Event. I love this industry that we’re a part of, I love live television, I love live shows.”

Patrick also currently serves as a commentator for WWE's Main Event show, a job he started back in 2021.

In an interview from December 2022, Patrick talked at length about the state of the Main Event brand. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
