King Baron Corbin will finally face Matt Riddle at WWE Payback after months of tension.
When Matt Riddle first arrived to Friday Night SmackDown, he immediately made an enemy out of King Corbin. Joining in on a beatdown of the king on a night that was meant to celebrate the Undertaker, Corbin would respond the next week by putting out a King's Ransom on the OG Bro.
After several failed attempts by Chad Gable to reap the rewards of the ransom, Baron Corbin finally decided on the August 28th episode of SmackDown but he needed to handle business himself. Promising to prove at WWE Payback that Matt Riddle doesn't belong in his kingdom.
For Matt Riddle, this match at WWE Payback will be his first WWE pay-per-view match outside of Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble, where he represented NXT.
