Kurt Angle Says WWE Asked Him To Make An Appearance During 2023 Draft But He Had To Decline

The WWE Draft almost had one more legend appearing to announce draft picks, but unfortunately, Kurt Angle was busy.

The 2023 WWE Draft was given an added feeling of spectacle by using several WWE Hall of Famers to announce draft picks. Eric Bischoff, Booker T, Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam, Molly Holly, and more all helped inform the WWE Universe of the numerous shake-ups within the roster. However, one name was asked to appear, but unfortunately had to decline, and that was Kurt Angle.

Angle revealed on the latest episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, that WWE invited him to appear on one of the nights but already had a prior commitment and had to turn them down.

"I was asked to do it, and I couldn't, unfortunately. I wish I could have. I would have loved to be there and announce a draft pick, but unfortunately, I was busy that day and couldn't do it... They offered me. I had to turn it down, unfortunately," he revealed.

Kurt Angle was recently a part of the 30th-anniversary celebration of Monday Night Raw. Angle has also been taking care of some medical issues outside the squared circle.

Angle recently underwent back surgery and says he is eyeing 2024 as a potential time frame for neck fusion surgery. Read more here.
