Kyle Busch Of How WWE 24/7 Title Reign Came About, WWE Didn't Want Him Talking

On the Dec. 2 WWE Raw, NASCAR driver Kyle Busch became the latest non-WWE superstar to win the WWE 24/7 Title. Busch, who was sitting ringside with fellow driver Michael Waltrip, rolled up R-Truth after Waltrip revealed his referee shirt.

Busch's reign did not last long as R-Truth regained the title after Raw went off the air.

Speaking to the NASCAR official website, Busch revealed how he found out he would be winning the 24/7 Title.

“We were just going there for the show, just to watch,” Busch said about his appearance alongside Michael Waltrip. “They heard we were coming and then set us up and said, ‘Hey, you want to be a part of the show?’ And I was like, ‘Well, all right, sure. What’ve you got in mind?’ Then they brought this up and I’m like, ‘Oh hell. This is going to be fun.’

Busch previously appeared on a 2009 episode of WWE Raw, serving as a guest host alongside teammate Joey Logano. Busch didn't do well with scripted lines to remember.

“This time, they were like, ‘don’t talk, just do,'” Busch said. “So it worked out.”
