LA Knight Worried He May Have Been Pushed Too Fast Into WWE Title Match

LA Knight talks his WWE Title opportunity.

Back at WWE Crown Jewel 2023, LA Knight's popularity was at a fever pitch as he faced off with WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns with the championship on the line. Much like Roman's other challengers before Knight, he would succumb to the numbers advantage of The Bloodline, losing to Roman in Saudi Arabia.

While appearing on Busted Open recently, Knight addressed his challenge for the championship, noting that he is worried he may have had the opportunity too soon.

"I actually feel, maybe there was too far of a push a little too fast. That is not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but a little bit of a steady build going into a championship match as far as going for the US Championship or Intercontinental Championship or something like that. Coming straight up to the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel was a little fast to where I almost worry that it might make people go, ‘Eh, they’re not going to do this. They’re not going to shove him down our throat like this, are they?’ There is that potential. At the same time, right now, I think I’m in a damn good spot. I don’t know if I’m selling myself short so much as I’m just cautiously optimistic."

Knight would challenge for the title once again at the WWE Royal Rumble along with Randy Orton and AJ Styles in a fatal four way match.

Knight is currently set to face off with Styles in singles action at WrestleMania 40, and was arrested during the March 22nd edition of SmackDown after assaulting Styles at home.
