Lana Comments On Wrestling Nia Jax, Prays That She'll Come Out In One Piece

The rivalry between Lana and Nia Jax rages on.

The two women have been at odds on television all through the fall and winter, with Lana winning their most recent bout, a Tables Match on the February 8 episode of Monday Night Raw. Speaking with talkSport, Lana was asked about her experience working with the WWE Women's Tag Team Champion and her thoughts on the criticism levied against Jax for her in-ring work.

“I think that Nia is very, very strong… And Nia is a beautiful Samoan with lots of strength and lots of size on her, so yeah I have to spend a lot of time mentally preparing myself because I know when I go out there, legit anything could happen [with Nia]."

Lana acknowledges that she is going to feel the effects of their matches the next day - noting specifically the nine tables she was put through back in October and November. Furthermore, she knows that this is what she signed up for and has no problem being remembered as the girl who could "take an ass-whooping and keep going."

That said, Lana knows the risks associated with facing Jax, even saying that she prays she'll come out of their encounters in one piece.

“We remember what happened with Kairi [Sane], Becky [Lynch] and a lot of other people. So let’s not forget that she took me out of the Rumble two years ago. Let’s not forget she took me out of TLC.

I say a lot of prayers that I’ll come out in one piece! But I don’t know, maybe I like the adrenaline rush. Maybe there’s something wrong with me [laughs]."

Lana isn't sure why she keeps running towards the powerhouse, but doesn't want to let fears dictate her life.

Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler are set to defend their WWE Women's Tag Team Titles at Elimination Chamber versus the team of Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair.

Fightful will have live coverage of the event beginning at 3 PM PST on Sunday, February 21, 2021.
