Lince Dorado Wants To Win A Title For His Kids, Doesn't Feel He's Reached His Potential

Lince Dorado has yet to hold gold in WWE, but championships aren't everything for the luchador.

Dorado is a former WWE 24/7 Champion and has held titles in other promotions like FIP and SCW. He's also won the CHIKARA King of Trios in 2008.

Speaking on A COOL Podcast, Dorado explained why titles aren't everything for him.

"If you win a championship, even if the company goes away, it's history. To me, the championships don't mean as much because my legacy means more. I don't want people to be like, 'that's a five-time WWE champion,' those are great numbers, but that means I love five or six times, maybe I only held the belt for 20 days. It doesn't mean anything to me. How I carry myself and how I was as a person or champion -- I may not have always been the best person to be around, I wouldn't even want to be around me. I would look at that legacy or championship as tarnished because I didn't hold myself to the standard I do now," he said. "CHIKARA was a great experience. I held a King of Trios title after enduring a crazy injury the year before, where I came back from a seizure. I basically knocked myself out in the ring. Looking back, I'm like, 'Why would I do that,' but at the time I would do anything for wrestling."

Dorado continued by saying, "I really haven't held a lot of titles in my career. I'm always the guy who has great matches and is dependable but somehow did not come up with it. Timing is everything. Right now is not the time for Lince to have that title. It's not my time to be in the spotlight. I feel like my destiny is destined for much more important than a title at this moment. I feel like I haven't reached my potential as this character or my physical self. There's always the next thing or my next evolvement. I'm looking forward to holding a title, I think it's important, but the only reason is because if I brought it home, my kids would go nuts. That would be a cool experience."

Dorado currently teams Gran Metalik as Lucha House Party. The dup have been active on WWE Main Event.

Elsewhere during the podcast, Dorado recalled his famous Elimination Chamber 2020 spot. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
