Ricochet is officially set to clash with Logan Paul at SummerSlam.
The two stars have been feuding since WWE Money in the Bank 2023, where Ricochet sent Paul through a table with a Spanish fly. They then brawled backstage. On the July 10 episode of the show, Paul told Ricochet that a match between them wouldn't work out. However, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion remained determined to face Paul in a match.
Ricochet officially issued another challenge on the July 24 episode of WWE Raw, and Paul accepted it. The match was then made official.

Ricochet delivered a heated message about how Paul didn't belong in WWE, as he was an "arrogant little prick" who would never understand the sacrifices WWE stars made. Paul attacked Ricochet from behind and accepted the challenge. Ricochet then rallied and dropped Paul. He punctuated the statement by hitting Paul with a Shooting Star Press.
