Luke Harper Speaks On The Time That He Considered Quitting Pro Wrestling

Luke Harper was in a tough position.

One-half of the menacing lurkers of SmackDown Live's tag division and also one-half of the current SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions, the Bludgeon Brothers' Harper was interviewed by his hometown media publication 'Rochester First'. During the interview Harper reflected on a rough period in his life where he had his newborn child on the way and was seriously considering quitting the sport of pro wrestling.

At the time Harper was working as a librarian at a school because his leg was broken and he shared that right before he was going to put his wrestling career behind him he got the call from WWE to come try out.

?My wife told me she was pregnant and I lost my job. I was a librarian at Frederick Douglas Middle School and so I thought the world was over and they called and said, ?Hey, can you come for a trial and I said, 'No, I have a broken leg,'? Harper remembers.?My wife was 8 months pregnant and I was just coming back from Japan and I said, 'Honey, I'm done, this is it, I'm just going to go get another real job and we'll make do here,' and that's the day (WWE called saying), 'Hey, can you come for a tryout?'? Harper said.

Harper & Rowan recently retained their SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships at the 'Greatest Royal Rumble' event this past Friday. Head over to Fightful's coverage of the event to read in detail on how they won their bout.
