Maki Itoh: I Still Want To Be In AEW And Have An Active Role On TV

Maki Itoh still has her sights set on AEW.

Itoh, one of the top stars in TJPW, has wrestled for AEW on multiple occasions. She debuted in 2021 as part of the AEW Women's World Championship Eliminator Tournament. Itoh has since competed on multiple AEW shows, including the May 18, 2022, episode of AEW Dynamite, where she lost to Britt Baker in the Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament. Itoh has worked a few AEW events since then, and she has competed in some dark matches in 2023.

In an interview with Wrestling With Honor, Itoh was asked to describe her goals, and she made it clear that she still wants to be in AEW.

"I still want to be in AEW. It is a narrow gate, but my dream is to become a [part of the] AEW roster and play an active role on TV," Itoh said.

Outside of TJPW, Itoh continues to compete on the independent scene in the United States; she often regularly wrestles for GCW.

Itoh previously stated that even if WWE gave her an offer, she would not accept; instead, she would stay beside AEW. Check out her comments here.
