Malakai Black Filming A Show For Hayabusa Called 'Throwing Hands'

Malakai Black discusses a venture outside of AEW.

Malakai Black is one of the top strikers in wrestling, utilizing his kicks, punches, and knees to damage his opponents throughout the match. Black has done some MMA training at Rofusport with CM Punk, who competed twice inside the UFC Octagon.

Speaking on Casual Conversations, Black discussed his background in martial arts and how he ties it into his wrestling.

"I always wanted to be a professional wrestler, but because I was a kid when I watched wrestling, I thought it was martial arts. I grew up in an era of like the early 90s and 80s where we had Jean-Claude Van Damme and Kickboxer, we had Bloodsport and Best of the Best. To me, what wrestling looked like two guys competing, jockeying for position, punching and kicking. For me, it translated to martial arts. Later on, I realized it wasn't the same, but I was hooked," he said.

Black is taking his love for martial arts and wrestling a step further, revealing he's filming videos for equipment and apparel company Hayabusa entitled Throwing Hands featuring some special guests.

"I started filming a show for Hayabusa, which is coming out soon, it's called Throwing Hands. It's basically me with friends with CM Punk and we talk about how mixed martial arts, or martial arts in general, influenced him in his road to being a professional wrestler. There are so many people who have the exact same journey as me. For me to be able to talk to these guys about their journey in martial arts and tying it into professional wrestling. Everyone has their own story the same way I did," he said.

Black did not give a date as to when the series will premiere.
