Maria Kanellis Comments On Upcoming ROH Women's Championship Tournament

At ROH 19th Anniversary, Maria Kanellis announced that the ROH Women's Championship tournament will take place in the summer of 2021.

Ring of Honor put together a Women's Championship tournament in 2020, but the tournament never happened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Maria offered small details on the upcoming tournament.

"We're interested in women from around the world, but most definitely women from all around the United States. It just depends on protocols. Different styles of wrestling and, of course, sport-based. Whatever that style of wrestling is, it is the sport of wrestling. We are very interested in several women right now and those women have been getting a whole lot of buzz across the nation. It's going to be a really competitive tournament you're also going to see some faces from the past and Ring of Honor originals. It's a good mix of women and strong matches and keeping what Ring of Honor has always been about," she said.

Further details, including competitors and a start date, have yet to be announced for the tournament.

Fightful will continue to update fans as more information regarding the ROH Women's Championship when more details are known.
