Mark Briscoe: Promising Title Shots Is A Boneheaded Move On MJF’s Part, He Doesn’t Know When To Keep His Mouth Shut
Mark Briscoe is fired up for Forbidden Door.
The pay-per-view will be headlined by a 12-man tag team match… inside of a steel cage. Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, Konosuke Takeshita, and Darby Allin will face MJF, Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada, and Andrade El Idolo. If he leads his team to a win, Briscoe will earn a shot at the AEW World Championship.
Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp for a new interview, Briscoe expressed confidence heading into the match.
“Oh, man. Always excited when the steel cage is involved, always. Super confident, super excited. Me and my crew, we are much more of a tight knit, we much more in unison than the other team I would say. So, yeah, I’m feeling good, man. Feeling good.”
Briscoe went on to slam MJF for not being able to keep his mouth shut.
“No kidding, man. See, like that’s his problem. As great as he thinks he is, it’s just a very, very boneheaded move on his part. I’ll put it that way. Very boneheaded move. He’s berating Andrade left and right and he don’t know when to keep his mouth shut. That’s his problem. So either way, it ain’t looking good for old Max. I think we’re ready to get violent. We got some ideas. We got some game plans and we’re gonna go have some fun.”
‘Chicken’ went on to tout the difference between this match and the Blood & Guts stipulation.
“No, man. Only the Blood & Guts. But that’s a whole different thing. I think that’s five on five, I believe. I don’t know. My brain don’t work like it used to, but no, I’ve never had a 12 man steel cage. Man, I’m telling you, there’s no way that this ain’t going to be a heck of a good time. I’m just wondering what’s the orientation of the cage? I’m hoping we have a little bit of ringside area to play in. 12 men in the cage is going to be a hoot.”
Rounding out the topic, Briscoe hinted that he might already be plotting out a crazy list of things to do in the match.
“See, I used to always try to come up with all these ideas by myself and think of things and come up with things. I still do to an extent, but anymore it’s just like these ideas are just uploaded. They’re just uploaded into my mind. I don’t even have to put in effort to think about these things, it just come to me. So I don’t know if it’s something from extraterrestrials. If it’s something from the good Lord himself, I don’t know. But they just come to me. I don’t normally wait. I don’t normally wait to see the structure. Now, sometimes when you do see the structure is a whole new thing. It’s like, ‘What in the world? Okay, we can do this here and we can do that there.’ But no, most of the time by the time I get to the building, I already got a pretty good list of crazy things to try or to do.”
