Mark Henry Makes Case For Drew McIntyre To Beat Cody Rhodes: Drew Needs A Moment Of Being The Guy

On the latest episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Drew McIntyre laid out the stipulations for his Three Stages of Hell match against Cody Rhodes in Berlin.
With the WWE Championship on the line one final time, McIntyre will have to beat Cody twice in either a regular wrestling match, falls count anywhere match, or inside of a steel cage.
In Busted Open’s review of the first Smackdown of 2026, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry made a strong case as to why Drew should leave Berlin as champion.
“Drew’s been run through the ringer,” Henry said. “He always gets to the dance but then can’t find his invitation. It’s time to throw the dude a bone and let him have his gloating heel king moment.”
Henry continued, “Drew needs a moment of being the guy so he can remind everybody 1. how good he is and 2. build up heat. You want to see the title be taken off of him, that’s an important thing in wrestling. We went away from what becomes important and we want to do what’s just entertaining.”
Drew McIntyre knew Rhodes couldn’t touch him on Smackdown which is exactly why he burned a photo of Cody with his father, Dusty. Tensions are at an all-time high and this rivalry will finally come to an end next week.
