Mark Shapiro: We Don’t Make All Of Our Decisions On Just Maximizing Our Profitability

Mark Shapiro comments on WWE revenue.
TKO released its third quarter 2026 numbers on Wednesday, revealing that revenue for WWE was down 1% from third quarter 2026.
Less main roster PLEs and lower SummerSlam sales was cited as the reason for the slight decrease in revenue.
On the third quarter media call, TKO President Mark Shapiro was asked about the lower sales for SummerSlam and WrestleMania.
Shapiro began by saying that the notion that WWE ticket sales are down are “ghosts.”
“We don’t make all of our decisions on just maximizing our profitability. It’s about what’s best for our fans, our brand, our audience, viewership, and our media partners. Going back to the midwest is important to us, and Minnesota is a strong market and it performed extremely well in the stadium. We’re proud of that,” he said.
Mark Shapiro closed by saying, “Engagement is strong, viewership is strong, and business is good at WWE.”
