Matt Cardona Defeats Rhino At GCW Most Notorious, Crowns Himself ECW Television Champion

Matt Cardona has added a new title to his collection.

At GCW Most Notorious on January 14, Cardona faced Rhino in singles competition. Prior to the match beginning, Cardona enraged the crowd by saying that Rhino isn't the last ECW Television Champion, but rather that that label belongs to Ezekiel Jackson, who held the ECW Championship in WWE in 2010. He then proclaimed that when he pinned Rhino, he would be the new ECW Television Champion.

Matt Cardona and Rhino had a hard-fought battle that saw the two brawl through the crowd. At one point, Cardona pulled out (what was presumably) a replica ECW TV Title and attempted to use it as a weapon. Back in the ring, Rhino lived up to his pre-match promise and Gored Chelsea Green through a door. Unfortunately for him, Cardona landed a low blow and a belt shot to win the match.

As soon as the bell rang, Cardona forced Emil Jay to announce him as the new ECW TV Champion.

Cardona is scheduled to face Joey Janela at GCW's sold-out Hammerstein Ballroom show, The WRLD on GCW, on January 23. Learn more here.
