Matt Hardy Says Ricky Morton Credits 'Tag Team Apocalypto' Appearance For WWE Hall Of Fame Induction

Matt Hardy recalls last-minute changes for the Tag Team Apocalypto and a WWE Hall of Famer’s gratitude for being included in the event.

On the latest episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt reveals that Hornswoggle was not supposed to be a part of the event as his role is actually supposed to go to Ryback but they had to make a last-minute adjustment.

"The most last minute change was Hornswoggle coming because we had Ryback written in and he was going to actually they were going to end up showing up here with these four guys in the Dome of Deletion. Ryback was gonna run through them and really have a great Ryback showing before they got eliminated," Matt recalled.

Furthermore, Matt Hardy reveals that Ricky Morton was grateful for the chance to appear, believing that it was this appearance that got The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express into the WWE Hall of Fame.

"We were revisiting, in the scene, The Night of the Skywalkers," Matt said, referring to Starrcade '87's Scaffold Match between The Rock 'n' Roll Express and The Midnight Express. "It really was Ricky's like, 'Alright, let's just go up here and wrestle, and I love, too, we're locking up and taking the arm. Ricky's insane. All right, Ricky's so great, though. He told me, 'Thank you.' He was so grateful for this opportunity. He said just whenever he was on the show, and this match had had some pretty decent buzz around it. He said, 'I really felt like this is why WWE called us for the Hall of Fame after this. It was after we appeared on there. So thank you so much for keeping us in mind and wanting us to be there.' I was like, 'Dude, thank you for doing it. You made it so special.'"
