Matt Hardy: WrestleMania 42 Felt ‘Very Prostituted’ Because Of All The Ads

Matt Hardy gives his take on WrestleMania 42.

Many fans criticized WrestleMania 42 for the short matches and the number of ads throughout both nights of the event. There were no backstage segments, and many felt the overall pageantry was down from past years.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani of the Ariel Helwani Show, Matt Hardy weighed in on the criticism.

“It is definitely so evolved and so different from what the initial concept of WrestleMania was. It felt very prostituted because of all of the ads and everything else. I also feel, when you go to these pay-per-views like WrestleMania, if you have these big matches between big stars, these matches need to be good and need to have time and need to have a good payoff. That’s what you’re building to,” he said.

WWE called WrestleMania 42 one of the most successful events in WWE history.

Elsewhere during the interview, Hardy commented on TNA talent being pulled from matches against AEW wrestlers. You can find his full comments here.
