Maya World Captures TBS Championship At AEW Redemption

Maya World becomes champion.

At AEW’s 2026 Redemption pay-per-view, Hikaru Shida put the TBS Championship on the line against Maya World.

The pay-per-view date, July 26th, is also Maya World’s birthday. The defense was Shida’s third since winning the belt in a Survival of the Fittest match in early July.

The backend of the bout saw Shida hit World with three running knees. She capped that off with a Falcon Arrow, but World was able to grab the bottom rope during the pinfall.

Shida thought she won the match, so when she realized it was not over, she grew frustrated with referee Paul Turner.

When she turned back around, World lifted her for an overhead slam and transitioned into a pin, which secured her the win and the TBS Championship.
